Media Relations

The media tells people about your business.

And we know the media.

We tell them about you so they can tell others.

Through our long-standing relationships and commitment to understanding the media’s needs, we get your information to the people who want it in the format that works for them.

How do we do it?

  • Create resources to properly position the business with the media, bloggers and online writers. These resources provide media detailed background information in the format they want to receive it.

    Includes:

    • General release

    • Fact sheet for quick reference

    • Bios on key team members

    • Photos and/or renderings

  • Distribute resources to local regional and national media (trade and consumer), along with reputable bloggers and websites, with customized pitch letters suggesting different story angles.

  • Make targeted monthly pitches to generate buzz and keep the public interested. For example, a business feature, a new menu item, a one-on-one with the owner, etc.

    • Coordinate invitations and invite select local/ regional/national media and bloggers to interview the owner during a selected period of time.

    • Create strategic partnerships with social media influencers. Note: an additional fee may apply.

    • Publicize new items, new hires, and special events as needed.

    • Include in broad pitches that include several MLA clients. For example: holiday happenings, gift guides, recipe trends, etc.

    • React quickly and professionally to all inquiries, providing information and setting up interviews and photo shoots as needed.

  • Pitch spokesperson to targeted morning TV shows and radio shows or podcasts for demos or news announcements.

    • Use editorial calendars and relationships with media to identify and maximize opportunities for media exposure.

    • Monitor voting for “best of” lists. Maximize chance to win by asking friends and customers to vote.

  • Remain available to handle media crisis communication as needed.

  • Help brainstorm and publicize special promotions and activities to encourage repeat business.

  • Pitch “sneak peek” looks to targeted local media in advance of openings.
